Remembering Christ at Christmas

I recently recieved a gift in the mail from my wonderful mother. It was a book "A Christ Centered Christmas" by Emily Freeman. One paticular story made my heart melt. The author tells of driving in the car with her little girl. They were listening to Christmas music and just as one song ended her daughter exclaimed, "Mom, I believe in Santa Claus, and YOU believe in Jesus Christ." You can only imagine how this poor mother's heart must have felt. Yet, it was true. They talked of Santa, they wrote letters to Santa, they were counting down the days until he would come and the wonderful gifts he would bring. After all, who doesn't love the jolly old man?
As my husband and I have conintued to read this little book, we have decided to make our own traditions for the Holiday Season that bring us closer to our Savior. The Man who is truly, the reason for the season. We want to unwrap and display the nativity set on December 1st, to sing Christmas carols and take goodies to our neighbors and loved ones; perhaps do the 12 days of Christmas to a special family, and most of all, every Christmas Eve, we want to bare our testimonies to our children of our love for our Savior and Testify of His birth, life, antonement and resurection. We want them to know that they have been given the most precious gift by Christ sacrificing his life so we may have our own, temporally and eternally with him in Hevean one day.
We are anxiously awaiting the drive to Utah. It has been too long without their warmth and laughter. I am SO grateful for the family and friends I have, and for their examples in my life.
We wish EVERYONE a Merry Christmas. And encourage you to rember Christ this Season and all year long.

Happy Thanksgiving !! I would have snapped a few more pictures, if I wasn't too busy cooking !!! Ryan and I made dinner for the Missionaries in our ward. We had turkey, of course, homemade rolls, homemade cranberry sauce, salad, homemade potatoes and turkey gravy, and THREE pies: pumpkin, razzleberry, and cherry. SO yummy !! I truly learned to appreciate all the work my Mother went to when it was her turn to prepare for this event. We have so very much to be grateful for!

Today was a very special day for Ryan and I. We found out that this precious child of ours is going to be a girl AND that she is perfectly healthy !! We are SO grateful to have had such a stress free pregnancy, and I am especially grateful to have felt as wonderful as I have. :) Thanks Mom for the "good pregnancy" genes !!

Happy Halloween! Mom surprised Ryan and I with a whole day in Sacramento before her next flight!! We walked up and down Old Town Sacramento and had lunch on the "Captain's Ship". Such a fun day for all of us! I love you Mom and miss you already!

MORE BABY NEWS!!

We are 75% sure we are having a baby girl!!! I couldn't decide just how to scrapbook this news, but, after a huge mess and 2 hours went by, I think I did okay.

At the Dr. appointment yesterday, we discovered our baby is a shy one. She kept putting her tiny hands in front of her face and around bottom so we couldn't see exactly what the gender was!! It was adorable. You probably can't read the names we've chosen very well, but they are Mason if it is a boy (We haven't decided on a middle name yet) and Mayley Drew if it is a girl.

I have been feeling the baby move and I had no idea it was so amazing. I still crave peanut butter and jelly sandwiches on a daily basis. And for the first time last night I wanted this pregnancy to go by faster so I can hold my baby! It felt wonderful.

I received very a very smart idea from my wonderful mother-in-law, Penny the other day. She said, "You should probably start packing up the house now, because it's when you feel the best." I was so excited to hear this advice, because Ryan has already been annoyed with my persistent "nesting and rearranging". HA! Now I can do it because there is a solid purpose. I am going to start packing to move back to Utah!! I can't help but smile from ear to ear when I think about it!!

Happy Birthday to Me!!! I had a wonderful day, and want to thank everyone for the phone calls, texts facebook posts in my behalf. I sure feel loved!

Ryan took the day off and decided to make me my first "Real Birthday Cake". We made the fondant and decorated the cake in about 3 1/2 hour... It was yummy!

Dinner came next, which was a chicken cordon bleu/crab and shrimp combo. It was fantastic as well. We finished the night with our friends coming over and watching a movie. SO much fun!

I have a dr. appointment in the morning and they will schedule me for my ultrasound to find out the gender. So just a few more days and we will all know what is coming. I am very excited.

Time to Grow

Well, as you can see from the ultrasound... We have a little one on the way (currently 14 weeks along)! Exciting is filling this special time of our lives. The BEST part is that all is normal and healthy. Ahhh, such a a relief! This past check-up we were expecting to find out just which gender we would be having, but they rescheduled on us for our next appointment. So we will try to wait patiently. I have had hundreds of names and decorating ideas going through my head, but most important, I am SO greatful to have the opportunity to be a mother. I have so many wonderful examples before, Grandma, My own Mother, Sisters, Aunts, Cousins, In-Laws, Friends... I hope to shadow them in some small way.

Life in Fresno hasn't changed much other than our pregnancy news. Ryan is working very hard with his Water Sales and is doing fabulous. He is currently attending University of Pheniox, online and loving it. I finished school, plan to graduate officially in November. Yay! I obtained a job for a couple weeks, but had clashing views with the Dentist on sterilization protocol and patient care, and suddenly had severe back problems, so I gladly resigned. I found out I was pregnant and have not wanted to risk the X-Rays, and mostly be able to walk and bend over WITHOUT pain. It has been a much needed break. I have been to a Chiropractor and have been doing a lot better. I have applied to a couple jobs, and hope to start working just part-time at Bath and Body Works again. I love that place!

Now that we have internet again, I will gladly be posting away in my free-time for everyone to be updated about our lives, and pregnancy. We love you all and are SO excited to make a trip to Utah in just a couple weeks to see our immediate families again. Until then, take care!

It's time for a picnic !!! Ryan and I loaded a backpack full of food and headed of to Woodward park for a day. It was so much fun!! I think cali enjoyed it best. She could run as much as she wanted and as fast as she could. It was super cute.

After our picnic we decided to enjoy our luxurious pool. I love to swim and lay out and can't believe I can do it everyday if I had time. Ha ha.

We want to send out a congrats to Trisha and Jared. :) You guys really are the most adorable couple!

We are really looking forward to the fourth of July weekend and to spend it with both our families !!!! We miss you all so much and feel that this family time will be sacred time.

After a lot of prayers and fasting Ryan and I have decided it is time to start our own little family. Any prayers from family members and friends would be much appreciated as we start this journey together and hope for a new happy beginning.

FAMILY & FRIENDS,

Ryan and I have been very blessed these past few weeks. We are all moved into our new apartment and LOVE the opportunity of having a large golf course behind us. Cali especially enjoys her daily walk, and without it, will sit whinning at the door until we let her out. It's been so good for us.

We have a washer and dryer ! It has been so wonderful to finally get our own. We also got a really cute table and stools for our breakfast nook.

As far as Ryan's job goes, we are still employed !!! YAY!!! He is no longer a driver for delivering water, but has recieved a promotion to the sales team. He is very excited to build the company and we are so grateful for the securtiy it has brought. :) I love him and am so grateful for his amazing devotion to working hard and providing so much for us. We have all we need and couldn't ask for more.

I am looking forward to graduating from Kaplan College with my Dental Assisting Program. I will be finished in less than a month !!! It's gone by SO fast, but we are looking forward to a rewarding career for me. So everyone smile and don't forget to floss !!!

Blogging will be happening a lot more since I have the internet now. I love being able to connect so quickly to family and friends. It is so fun to see all the pictures and read what is going on. I miss my family like crazy, but look forward to a trip in July. (:

March 3, 2010- My mole was removed !!! Yay !! Man, I didn't realize how hard it could be to schedule an apointment and get that thing off. I was able to go to a wonderful office, however, when I got there and the doctor actually looked at it (my last appointment was just a cost estimate) she realized how severe it was and almost didn't do it ! She said the amount was going to tripple ($1200)and that I would need to be sent to a specialist. Since we had to pay out of pocket, I couldn't handle it. I had been waiting for three months to get this thing off. We had great insurance until I went to schedule this apointment and then Ryan's company got bought out. The new insurance kicked in Monday, but we didn't have the cards to prove it. I started to cry when they left. Another nurse came in and instantly comforted me and said they would work it out. It ended up costing only $160 to get it off ! (We were quoted $250) I was so grateful ! I am now mole-free and will have a check up apointment on the 15 to make sure it isn't anything too serious. Thank you for all your concern, family and friends. We are so grateful for you all !

On a lighter note, Ryan and I will be moving out of the wonderful home we have been living in and into the Palm Lakes Apartments. We mutual agreed with Jeff Bennet, the owner of the home that it was time for us to move out, since rent was getting a little expensive. He has plans for another family to move in and we get the upgraded amenities of a large pool, spa, work out room, and tanning beds ! Not to mention our two bedroom apartment is upstairs and has a large deck that outlooks a golf course !!! We couldn't be happier. :) We have taken Cali to the golf course and she has had so much fun running around. We are moving this weekend (3/5/10) and will have pictures up shortly.

I just want to tell my Mother CONGRATS !!! She made it into Flight School ! I am so proud of her and have had 110% faith that she could do it. :) Way to go ! Ryan and I will continue to keep you in our prayers as you tackle the work ahead. Good Luck and We love you Mom !!!

Another Month of Life..

Family and Friends,

We have had yet another wild ride of events the past few weeks. To start off, the pictures are of our 1 year anniversary trip to Monteray Bay. We had such a great time. We stopped on the way to an ice cream shop and were served 3 lbs of ice cream EACH ! I was so full afterward. We really had a great time and loved seeing our puppy go crazy at the beach. The video of her shows how excited she was. :)

Recently, Ryan and I have been trying to figure out what to do about a cyst that has grown on my head. It's most likey a red mole that has filled with fluid, and really wasn't an issue until it grew to be the size of large grape. We were getting ready for Ryan's work to open their bennefits program when the company go bought out. So the insurance we were paying for is no longer avaliable and Ryan may not have a job on the 19. His interview is tomorrow Feb 10, at 6 in the morning ! Wish him luck. We feel confident that he will get the job with Alhambra Waters and that nothing will really change as far as what his job position is. He does a really good job and just yesterday got 8 new customers. Way to go honey !!!

As for the cyst, I called my mom- the woman who can make everything all better. And she did. Since I am at work and school I didn't have time to research doctors and call one. She has made me an appointment and I am excited to get this thing removed. I will keep everyone updated as to how that goes. Thanks Mom !!!

As far as our callings are going, we are doing great. Ryan still goes out with the missionaries and we feed them regularly. It's been so fun to be a part of that and for me, to learn how to better help my future children when they serve missions. I am so grateful for Ryan, and that he served an honorable full time mission. The young women's has kept me very busy as well. Teaching lessons a couple times a month, planning parties and personal progress activities. The girls I work with are adorable and each one has so much to give and desires to be happy. I learn so much from them and admire how hard they work to live what they know. The leaders I work with are incredible as well. They are all so organized and willing to reach out, as with everyone in our ward. We have truly been blessed here in Fresno.

We love you all and can't wait to see you this summer. We plan on making a trip out if all goes well. Much love to everyone ! We miss you !!!

New pictures !!! Finally !!! Ryan and I have been doing amazing. A couple weeks ago Mom and Wendy came for a vist. We were so excited to see them ! These are some photos from our adventures on hunington beach and at the pier halloween trick or treating. It was a lot of fun.

I am currently still loving school and Ryan is currently the top salesman in his district. Yosemite Water's has really come through for us. We are currently considering purchasing a home out here. Exciting !!! We love and miss you all !!!

This Week was so much fun. We got to go and do so many fun things. I got to start my new Dental classes and Ryan is Moving along really well in his job and school. We got to go to a fun landscaping show and see all the cool ideas there are to do in your back yard. Ryan and I were really excited about this one because our back yard isn't finished. :) . . . Yet. It was just so fun.

We wanted to make steaks but didn't have a grill. It was so funny because Ryan said "like father like sun. I'm going to go to the store and ill be back with a grill. When he came back he had a turkey tin. a bag of charcoal, and a rack from the oven and said "we have our grill!" It was so yummy and worked so good. We had Tritip steak. A California Central Valley original. one of our favorites.

Hey yall this is Ryan. Haha Whit is tryin to show me how to use this Blogger thing. So I figured a good way to start is to let everyone know about the amazing weekend we had. It was so much fun. I got off work at around 5:00 and came home to our wonderful little home. WHit was all ready dressed and ready to go. We had planned the day before to go to the temple to start our holiday off right. I got ready and off we went. It was amazing. We then came home and finished the night with icecream and a movie.
The next morning, saturday, We got up and went out to breakfast. Whit got this real yummy stuffed pancake thing with whipped cream and strawberries. I being the weird one had a nice lunch chicken bacon ranch wrap for breakfast with fries. Haha. Yum. From there we went to go get a trailer for a gift that one of my former investigators had for me. He was moving to vegas and wanted me to have it because he knew i would take care of it, and because I had helped him work on it in the past. It was a 1973 VW Bug with a custom sound system, and a huge 2190 cc motor. Mine to keep for free!! How amazing! so we got it home and Whitney and I went to work washin it and waxin it and just gettin it all good lookin.
It was around 6:00 when that was all over and off i went to get ready to go out on splits with the Elders here in our ward. It was amazing.
Today church was sooo amazing. the spirit was so strong. We have dinner plans with a family tonight, and I am going out with the Elders again. This time, one of the Elders I trained!! haha its his last transfer, and so I wanted to go out on splits with him at least once for old time sakes. Anyway, so that was our weekend. Its been amazing! Love yall!

"Even if for just a short time, we cherished every moment." -meads

The past weeked has been anything but normal. Friday morning, Ryan called from work so sick. He had food posioning from either a sandwich or a taco I fixed him, we haven't determined which. So I picked him up and came home. Around five o' clock that evening I noticed some changes with my pregnancy that doesn't usually happen... bleeding. It scared me really bad. Ryan jumped off the couch as soon as I told him and we headed off to the hospital. We first went to a clinic, then found our way to the ER. I drove and Ryan through up on the way. It was wild.
We checked into the ER and found ourselves there for 4 & 1/2 hours. Ryan was in the bathroom most of the time. After so long, and my condition not really getting better or worse we decided to go home and wait it all out. Around 11:30 it became really bad and I knew that I would cause a wreck if I drove and Ryan couldn't even stand, let alone drive, so I called an ambulance. They treated me so good and got me back to the Emergency Room.
As they were checking me back in one of the nurses who helped me said, "You were just here! Why did you leave ?" I was so nervous at this point and realized it was not smart to have left, yet they were just calling my name as we arrive. I would have waited there 6 &1/2 hours before getting a room, let alone seeing the doctor. I have never had such a rude person in my life as that nurse. She sent me back out into the waiting area to wait, this time at the bottom of the list. It was what the ambulance medics called "her form of punishment" for me leaving. Ridiculous ! Ryan couldn't take any of it any more and walked up to the window and told the nurses, "My wife needs to see a doctor, NOW!" A nurse came out and took us into the back room and told us there was nothing they could do for our situation. I was having a miscarriage and it is simply going to happen. I went into the restroom and came out with my rag which I had been using and had him throw it away. The nurse then realized how much blood I was losing and said, "We just got an opening, come with me." Ryan and I looked at each other and were comforted.
I waited in my room from midnight to seven the next morning still without seeing a doctor. I was in the most pain I have ever been in ( an insight to real labor pains). Around three or four in the morning they finally gave me some medication to ease the pain and I fell fast asleep. During this whole process I knew that there was little that could be done for me and felt at peace. I knew that everything would be okay and that even though this little child was not to come to earth at this time, others would. I can't even describe the comfort I had. It was a huge blessing.
When the doctor finally came in around seven thirty in the morning, the whole process was over. They checked my to make sure nothing was wrong with me and informed me that I was very healthy and should not worry. It was exactly what we needed. We left the hospital around noon that day.
Coming home all we wanted to do was sleep. We opened the door to find a note from our friend who came to check on our puppy that said, "We didn't want any more carpet ripped up so we put her in the bathroom" We both looked at each other and said, "oh no.." Sure enough Cali had ripped up the carpet from the bedroom door where it was closed. We couldn't believe it. Ryan spend the next few hours trying with all his might to fix the carpet. Nothing worked. We both went to bed exhausted.
Looking back on this experience, we both feel that we are handling it well. Ryan is back at work today and I am feeling good. We are sad about our loss, but know that it has opened many doors for us, especially that of more preparation to be parents. We are so grateful for the Gospel of Jesus Christ and for the peace that comes from knowing we can have strength in our times of trial. We love our families and are so grateful for their support, love and prayers at this time. I love my husband so very much and have grown so close to him. I know he is going to make and amazing father someday.

Our Trip to California !!!!

We first off want to apologize that it has been so long since we have updated the blog. Moving to Minnesota was a really good experience for Ryan and I. We decided to move to California based on a really good job offer and a home in which his friend would let us stay at. Not to mention the School which we have found to be great.
Shortly after leaving Minnesota we found out that our apartment building had been struck by lightning ! We hope that all is well with our neighbors back there and can't imagine the stress it must have caused, but feel so grateful we decided to move.
It was a long trip from Minnesota to California, however we did not have to do it all in a row. We traveled first to Montana to spend time with my sister Wendy and her husband Bret and their five kids. It was wonderful ! Then we headed to Utah where we unpacked the corolla and then repacked the corolla. Lot's of work !
The pictures above are of friends we stopped to see in Utah and of a bird which we saved from a snake in the middle of nowhere at a rest stop. We felt proud. The last pictures are of us in Jeff's home making brownies. Don't they look delicious ? Well, they were.
We are having a wonderful time here in Cali. Ryan's first job didn't go through, but he quickly recovered and found a new one. We feel very blessed and believe this is where we are supposed to be. We love and miss you all !!!!

These two adorable kids are Caleb and Ryan Fransen. I watched them for ten days while their mom was in Thailand. It was a blast !!! Ryan and I are doing really good. We are working hard. I can't wait to go visit my family next week !

Life is going pretty good out here in Roseville, MN. Ryan is working day in and day out. He is trying to get used to the idea that this job does have it's "free days" were he works for free, which isn't so fun. But we are both enjoying ourselves and our family and friends out here. A few weeks ago on a Saturday night Ry and I went out for ice cream and hair dye at Walmart. So I now have dark hair ! The next day we ended up getting a mattress and a vaccuum !!! The matteress was getting hauled out to the dump, so we snatched it from the deliver men and the vaccuum was by the dumpster. I didn't want Ryan to touch it, but he convinced me that it wasn't broken. Sure enough after twenty minutes of cleaning it... We have a brand new vaccuum !! live is amazing. We are so blessed and happy for all we have !!!

Ryan finally got his APX jacket !!! Yay!! The goal was to sell five alarm systems before you got it. He has sold seven in just over a week ! We are so happy and I am so proud of him and how hard he is working !!! It's a tough job, but he is sticking to it and making it worth while. When he hits twenty five sales, you will probably see a picture of a very nice guitar up. Ha ha. That's his next goal.

Ryan did the dishes and the laundry!!! Yay !!! Ha ha. He also sold two systems today !! It was his first day to do that so we were so excited. Ryan will get his official APX Jacket for hitting his sales goal. (Don't worry, we will post more pics.) I was also able to get a job at the Buckle !!!!! I can't wait to start on Tuesday. We are happy to be here and can't wait to see family next week !!!

We are finally all moved in !!!!! Minnesota is wonderful. Ryan's first day he made a sell. We were SO excited!!! The drive took us 25 hours ! Not so much fun... but we made stops along the way and hit Wall Drug. That was pretty cool. We hope you enjoy the pics of our town home! it's way nice!

I am finally finishing up college! The Quest Program was an amazing experience. I am so very grateful I was able to study off campus and in a lodge.I have learned so much and really do love school. My professors were for the most part really good, which was a huge blessing. I can't wait to be home with my WHOLE family. I miss them all so very much !!!!

Well, Halloween was a blast! As you can see. Ryan, Kaycee, Lexie and I did a scavenger hunt where we had certain pictures to take. It was great! Afterwards we went home and watched "Shutter". Let's just say that when it was done- we all busted out in laughter. It was pretty scary all throughout, but the ending just shattered it. I personally liked it, cause then I didn't have to worry about being freaked out all night. So, as for this Halloween- it was a good one!

Ryan and I had a wonderful time up in Morgan getting our pictures taken. His cousin Holly did an amazing job! It was a nice getaway from college life; studying, homework, late nights and lots of papers. It was so good to see my family again. I am so very lucky to have the parents I do as well as the amazing examples of my brothers and sisters. I am very grateful for all of their help and support. It really has meant a lot.

Life is going great and I just want to thank my family for all the gifts and love for my birthday. I miss you all very much and can't wait to see you all soon. No, they are not real....That is just my 22 year old brother's from of boredom relief: Sticking magnets to his face. I warn all- do not place magnets up nose! I watched my brother in much pain trying to retrieve them. It was pretty funny.

My friend Jessica let me snap this shot with her camera! We took a little road trip up to Mesa Falls. It was awesome! I just want all my family to know that I love them and miss them all. Family is so important and I am forever greatfull to be sealed to mine. (Even if we are just a bunch of "Wall Nutts". I cherish the memories I have with my dad hunting and with my mom cooking in the kitchen. With KC four wheeling and Billy ridding horses. Doing the mini troyettes with my big sis Marie and going on bike rides with Wendy before she left for college. I love you all and am so greatful to have you as examples in my life. Thanks so much for being there for me and for helping me see who I really am.

I currently have just graduated Morgan High School in Morgan, Utah. I live in Layton with my wonderful Grandmother and have worked at Bath and Body Works all summer, until the few vacations to Peru, Lake Powell, Panguitch, and Louisiana. I love being around family and have had so much fun meeting new friends over the summer! I will be attending BUY Idaho in a few weeks. It will be a a great adventure.
